Types
Steel Fibers: These are often made of steel or a combination of steel and other materials. Steel fibers are effective in reinforcing concrete by providing additional tensile strength and preventing crack propagation. They are commonly used in industrial floors, pavements, and shotcrete applications.
Synthetic Fibers: Materials such as polypropylene, polyester, and nylon are used to create synthetic fibers for concrete reinforcement. Synthetic fibers improve the concrete's resistance to cracking, impact, and abrasion. They are commonly used in applications where corrosion resistance is important, such as swimming pools or marine structures.
Glass Fibers: Glass fibers are used as reinforcement in concrete to improve its tensile strength and durability. They are lightweight and corrosion-resistant, making them suitable for applications where traditional steel reinforcement may not be ideal.
