Concrete

Materials

Cement

A fine powder, typically made from limestone, clay, shells, and silica. It reacts chemically with water to form a paste, which binds the aggregates together.

Water

Essential for the chemical reaction that causes the cement to harden and gives concrete its strength. The right amount of water is crucial to achieve the desired consistency and strength.

Aggregates

Granular materials that make up the bulk of concrete. They include sand, gravel, crushed stone, or other inert materials. Aggregates provide strength and stability to the concrete mixture.

Admixtures

Additional materials added to the concrete mix to modify its properties. Admixtures can enhance workability, increase strength, improve durability, or provide other specific characteristics to the concrete.
